Undulating, Stoneware 2023

by Dásâ
$214.00

This original artwork is a part of Tracing Change, a group exhibition showcasing the work of artists from the Modern Times community and beyond. Tracing Change invites both artists and audience to trace back through thoughts and experiences, and experience a gratitude or curiosity for the ability to grow, transmute and transform.

“Reflecting on the past year, Undulating is a piece which has evolved into a sculptural form from an initiative making process, it has been created with gestural hand building techniques and embraces the raw materiality of clay. It is a piece that honours a year of change, reflection, listening, embracing the unknown and leaning into states of flow," says Hana Vasak (aka Dasa Ceramics).

About the Artist

Dáša

Each Dáša piece is hand sculpted by Hana Vasak from her home studio in Melbourne.  Vasak's approach to designing her vessels merges foundational techniques of hand building and slab construction. Drawing inspiration from sculpture, natural forms, ancient pottery and her travels, Vasak creates small collections of individually handcrafted  sculptural vessels that are unique in both shape and form.

Vasak also employs the Japanese technique of Kintsugi to transfrorm damaged pieces into objects of beauty and reverence.
