This original artwork is a part of Tracing Change, a group exhibition showcasing the work of artists from the Modern Times community and beyond. Tracing Change invites both artists and audience to trace back through thoughts and experiences, and experience a gratitude or curiosity for the ability to grow, transmute and transform.

“My works were created for the “Tracing Change” 2023 exhibition, the theme was timely as I painted these whilst going through an attempt at the greatest carer change of my life. The process of this new endeavour saw highs and lows, it had me questioning my abilities and what was being asked of me. It saw me learning new skills and working in areas that were completely outside my comfort zone. It woke an exciting drive, commitment to learning and passion that I had not taped into for so long. The environment around me in this change was incredibly supportive and evoked excitement at the attempt at a traditionally unconventional female role," says Kemp.

About the Artist

Jessica Kemp

Jessica Kemp is a Melbourne-based emerging artist who enjoys painting with the use of acrylics on canvas, with a particular enjoyment for creating large scale pieces.

Kemp describes her art as a way of expressing a spectrum of emotions, creating freedom, and prioritising a time for reflection and peace. She draws on her personal and professional life as well as her other interests including fashion and interior styling to marry these with her painting style.

Kemp enjoys flirting with colour and bold texture to create energy and movement that is both primal and organic as well as truly modern. Her pieces are exactly this, requiring many weeks to develop and often shifts with life’s movements and experiences itself.

Please choose carefully as we do not offer refunds, exchanges or credit notes for change of mind on any one-off items which includes vintage furniture, original art and objects and made-to-order products. Do you offer click and collect?

Yes! Please select the option when checking out for pick up from our store on 311 Smith Street, Wurundjeri, Fitzroy. For larger items that require a vehicle, this entrance is the only access to our store. Unfortunately, we cannot offer assistance to your vehicle so please collect your items with this in mind.
