Conquest, Glazed Stoneware 2023

$974.00

This original artwork is a part of Tracing Change, a group exhibition showcasing the work of artists from the Modern Times community and beyond. Tracing Change invites both artists and audience to trace back through thoughts and experiences, and experience a gratitude or curiosity for the ability to grow, transmute and transform.

“This has been a year of unparalleled transformation for me. Marked by intense challenge and deep discomfort, it’s a year that ends with a person fundamentally different to the one who ushered in its beginning. I’ve drawn from that discomfort to create this piece of work, which is an expression of the gas industry’s influence over the Western Australian government. As an anti-Woodside activist I’ve found myself a direct casualty of this toxic influence, which bleeds through every facet of life in our glittering and wealthy state," says Partyka.
