Leather

To extend the life and condition of your leather, we recommend using Renapur Leather Balsam Conditioner to nourish and protect.

Marble

Marble is a porous material that requires special care and will develop a patina over time. It should be treated in a similar way to a fine timber finish. It can be easily stained; vinegar, citrus, and tomato will etch marble so don’t let them sit on the stone.

  • Reduce the risk of damage by using coasters and placemats.
  • Wipe up any spills immediately with a soft damp cloth.
  • Do not use acidic or abrasive cleaners.

Metal

Brass and chrome are commonly used materials and finishes on both new and vintage furniture. We like the patina that comes with age but there are a few simple cleaning methods.

  • Wipe with hot, soapy water using a soft cloth and dry thoroughly.
  • For an extra shiny finish use a little sprinkle of baking powder on a vinegar soaked cloth.
  • Avoid commercial metal cleaners as they can be very abrasive and remove chrome plating.

Modern Times respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which we gather, share and celebrate local creative practice. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the first people of Australia. They have never ceded sovereignty, and remain strong in their enduring connection to land and culture.
