Louise Kyriakou has been working in Melbourne as an artist and designer for many years, and for not so many years as a visual arts teacher in the the East Gippsland Lakes region. This change of scenery resulted in the opening up of her artistic scope to working with new materials and diversifying her artistic practice. She now uses mainly ceramics as the canvas for the charming stylised characters and graphic shapes that have long been a common thread in her work. Each of her collectable ceramic face designs are steeped in qualities referencing cultural iconic design motifs and decorative elements that have been playfully stylized to make them unique to her own creations.
