Anna Steele’s practice has always been themed around the landscape. Over the last couple of years while being embedded in the city, her work has been about envisioning spaces beyond the built environment. From traversing the imaginary to finally being able to return to nature and more wild spaces, the works are painted abstracted landscapes that are reduced and minimal that speak about form and colour. Steele holds a Bachelor of Arts in Painting from RMIT University (2009) and has been exhibiting locally and internationally since. She recently graduated with a Master of Contemporary Art from the VCA in 2020.
