Sean McDowell is an early-career artist whose practice investigates a broad network of his interests including display, psychology, archaeology and museology, as well as both personal and art historical narratives.

In 2020, he completed his Bachelor of Fine Art (First Class Honours) at The Victorian College of the Arts. He has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions and has been shortlisted for prizes such as The Mary and Lou Senini Student Art Award, MccLelland Sculpture Park + Gallery, the Footscray Tertiary Art Prize and the 2019 Keith and Elisabeth Murdoch Fellowship at the Margaret Lawrence Gallery.

His work is held in private collections throughout Australia, Germany and The Netherlands.
