Clementine Maconachie is an Australian sculptor based in Sydney, working predominantly in steel and Hebel. Raised in Albury, Maconachie's early years were spent in the pool, competing around the world at the highest levels, including the Olympics in 2000.
In 2015, Maconachie founded her own creative agency, and has designed and made bespoke furniture, fittings and sculptural installations for retail shops, fashion showrooms, Sydney Fashion Week shows and private concerns.
More recently in 2020, Maconachie shifted her focus from furniture and installations to sculpture and art full-time. Through her work she finds beauty and softness in industrial materials creating organic, minimal and sometimes figurative forms. Maconachie's recent work includes folded sculptures in steel aluminium, brass, copper and totems in Hebel and wood.
Maconachie's work is regularly seen in homes, restaurants and magazines such as Vogue Living, Belle, Artichoke, The Local Project and Real Living. She is represented by Richeldis Fine Art in London, Dimmitt Contemporary Art in Texas and Arden White Gallery in New York.
