“Grotto forms have always attracted me. The private spaces they create and what is held within them are intriguing. Empty grottos provide a space to be filled with personal desires, reflections, and wishes. The lady of the grotto is a connection for me to my ancestors and a place I hold internally that connects me to a land I have never known but am intrinsically linked to. Interpreted through the stories and myths taught to me in my childhood.” says Russell.
Exhibited at Melbourne Design Fair 2022 until 20 March, 2022.
