There is a distinct sense of opulence and grandeur about this pendant light in the style of Barovier & Toso. Crafted from Murano glass and hailing from 1960s Italy, it’s glamorous and eye-catching. The dome-shaped glass shade with teardrop detail hangs from a cord adorned with Murano glass spheres. The light omits from brass fixtures which sit within the dome - the design of this is a thing of beauty itself. This particular type of Murano glass is special for its ‘crocante’ effect - which translates to ‘crispy’. The glass is highly textural; it looks as though it’s been shattered then fixed in place. Venetian company Barovier & Toso are renowned for their exquisite work with Murano glass and are associated with the highest calibre of vintage Italian lighting design. This piece is of a very high quality and has been beautifully made.
