The DU04 Sideboard is a Dutch classic. Designed by legendary designer Cees Braakman in the 1950s for Pastoe, it is part of the famous Japanese Series. Some of the standout characteristics are the black minimalist handles and the slim metal legs that give lightness and fragility to the overall piece. The drawers also feature the distinctive rounded edge anti-dust design (it’s a beautiful curved timber detail!). With two large cupboards and four drawers, there’s plenty of storage space behind the sleek facade. We particularly love the contrasting grain detail; it runs vertically on the cupboard doors, and horizontally on the drawers. Overall, a premium vintage Dutch sideboard to cherish for years.
This piece is of a high quality and calibre thanks to the designer and manufacturer; the partnership signifies an important period of Dutch design history, and the pieces produced by the pair are highly regarded today.
