FARSTRUP

Founded in 1910 in the village of Farstrup, this Danish manufacturer began life as a sawmill. After some years the company began to focus its traditional saw-milling expertise on the production of furniture, and expanded significantly from the mid 20th century onwards. Perhaps most well known for the #210 Dining Chair —with its gently curved back rest, tapered wooden legs and simple upholstered seat—Farstrup still produces all its furniture from scratch. "We cut the wood, process it in our joinery workshop, apply the finish and assemble it." The company also operates its own stitching and upholstery workshops. Today, Farstrup furniture is still characterised by simple design, practical ergonomics and everyday utility.
